July 23, 2011  Incline Village Weather Update

The conditions that have kept Tahoe's weather mild this week will continue for the next day or two before we see a slight warming trend.

A trough off the Pacific Coast has been keeping a ridge of high pressure over the U.S. interior east of the Sierra, and that's meant high temperatures staying a little bit below normal.

That trough is about to slide to the east, however, and when it does the ridge will expand and begin to put a lid over Tahoe and the Sierra. That will mean an increase in temperatures back toward normal for this time of year.

Another trough is forming near Alaska and is expected to slide down the coast early next week, dropping temperatures again.
