Incline Village Real Estate Weather Update4/29/2011
Tahoe's weekend will begin with a cold spring storm but end on a warm note.
A ridge of high pressure over the west is breaking down this morning as a cold front pushes toward the Sierra from the Pacific Northwest.
This system will drop temperatures Friday by 10 to 20 degrees below today's highs. Winds with gusts of 50 mph or more are possible in and around the Tahoe Basin. Friday is definitely going to be a choppy day on the Lake.
Precipitation, meanwhile, will be light. Some snow showers are possible around the Basin, especially toward the north along the Interstate-80 corridor. We could even see some light accumulations near Donner Summit, but probably only an inch or two. Snow levels will drop to about 5000 feet on Friday.
Saturday will be cold and breezy behind the front but drier, and by Sunday a new ridge of high pressure will begin building over the area, bringing a warming trend and a return to seasonably normal temperatures.
