Tahoe can expect cooler temperatures and breezy conditions this weekend as a weak low pressure trough passes over the Sierra.

We'll actually see three separate waves of energy from this system, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Temperatures should drop about 10 degrees today and then remain fairly steady through the weekend. Saturday looks to be the windiest day in the short term, with gusts peaking in the afternoon under the influence of a strong pressure gradient.

By Sunday a ridge of high pressure will begin forming over the coast before expanding into the interior. Temperatures should be rising to near 100 degrees in the Sacramento Valley and western Nevada, with highs in the 80s possible for the Sierra during the first week of summer.
