Tahoe Real Estate Culture. Weekend Weather Update
June 23, 2011
The ridge of high pressure that brought above normal temperatures to Tahoe this week has shifted east and is now centered over the Rockies. That's allowed an upper level trough of low pressure to slide into the Pacific Northwest, and that trough will be influencing our weather into early next week.
The first impact will be cooler temperatures, with high 8 to 10 degrees lower than they were earlier in the week. We'll also see some windy conditions, with gusts of 35 mph to 40 mph possible today. The threat of thunderstorms remains remote in the Tahoe Basin this weekend, though we could see some large cumulus clouds building up around the crest.
Temperatures will return to near normal by Sunday and then dip a little further early next week as a wave of energy spins off that trough and moves through the Sierra.
